Chapter 1 - Who I am ?

Before I start writing about the different steps or actions I have already taken or will take, I would like to introduce myself.

Behind wearfunbaby is a woman—a professional. A mom of two, a partner, a friend, and last but not least, a sporty girl.

I don’t have a degree in business or a similar field. I studied engineering and work as a project manager. However, I love reading about entrepreneurship, listening to podcasts, and watching videos. I am fascinated by those who have built businesses from nothing. I love hearing their stories and learning about their mindset, failures, and successes.

I am an optimistic and creative person, and deep down, I have always dreamt of being an entrepreneur.

Growing up, I was told that the best way to succeed in life was to go to college and get an office job. I didn’t question it, and I followed that path. I have never truly enjoyed my jobs, but they weren’t terrible. The company where I work focuses on projects that have a positive impact on people, which helps me stay motivated. I also get along well with my boss and colleagues. However, it is not my dream to remain an employee.

Currently, I work part-time (80%), which gives me one “free” day. I used to spend that day with one of my children (or sometimes both), but I was so tired that I couldn’t fully enjoy the time with them. Two months ago, out of exhaustion, I decided to dedicate that day to myself. Now, I have one day to work on wearfunbaby (plus some afternoons and weekends when family life allows it).

I prefer to keep some secrecy about my identity because I still have a job. Even though the chances of someone from work discovering this blog or Instagram page are low, I don’t want to risk it. I don’t feel like explaining to my boss that I’m also working on a personal project/future business. Mainly, I don’t want gossip circulating around the office about a business that doesn’t even exist yet.

Apart from wearfunbaby, I have had other ideas in the past. I never took them very far, but I always learned something—like how to create a website or define an ideal client. I tested concepts (the idea of prototyping), ran some advertising, etc. I even had a client for one of my products. However, I discouraged myself quickly, so those projects never developed into real businesses.

What’s different this time? I think it’s a mix of things. I believe more in this product. My mission is clearer, I’m less afraid, and above all, I feel that if I don’t give my all to make this project succeed, I will regret it. I don’t want to grow older and feel frustrated with my life. I also want to set an example for my children.

Finally, I want to create a company that represents my core values: respect, fun, and usefulness.

  • Respect for everyone working in the company and for our clients.

  • Fun because life is too short to be serious all the time, and I truly believe professionalism and laughter can coexist.

  • Usefulness because I don’t just want to decorate your daily life—I want to make it easier, calmer, and better.

I may add more values along the way, but for now, these best represent who I am and what I want my company to be.

Sending you love,

wearfunbaby
